David Wilkinson
Elder

David has been coming along to Christ Church since 2008 when he moved to Liverpool with his wife Angela.   They have two daughters Rebekah and Hannah and together lead and host the East Connect group in their home.  Over the years David has made good friends with the M62  as he makes the commute to Manchester each day to work as a paediatric surgeon – but loves returning home to Liverpool and his family both home and at church.

David grew up in a Christian family but it wasn’t really until he moved away from home to study in Sheffield in the late 1990’s that he began to really understand that being a Christian isn’t about following rules – what you do or don’t do. but instead is about the wonder of what God has done for us and how that then shapes the way we live in response to Him.

Having previously dreamt of a call up to the England cricket squad David has had to accept this probably isn’t going to happen.  Now when he gets a spare moment he enjoys getting stuck into a good book or getting out and being reminded of the glory of creation from the top of a mountain.

James Lang
Elder

James has been coming along to Christ Church since 2005 when he came to Liverpool to study, he now works as a Software Engineer just across the water in Birkenhead.

He is married to Helen who works as a doctor in Liverpool and they have a young son Isaac.

James leads the South Connect Group with Tom, and in his spare time he enjoys SCUBA diving with Helen, photography and playing the saxophone.

Josh Probert

Born & bred in North Wales, Josh came to Christ Church as a Ministry Trainee back in 2007 and has remained and settled in Liverpool as his adopted home. Having qualified as a teacher in 2010, he has since left the teaching profession to move into ministry. He became an elder in 2014 and now he works part-time in international ministry for Christ Church and has a part-time training role with the North West Partnership. He is married to Cairine who works as a consultant radiologist in Liverpool city centre and they enjoy reading, sport, city breaks, gardening and box sets!

Tom Askew
Elder

Tom grew up going to church, and would have called himself a Christian all his life,  but thinks he only really started to understand and appreciate God’s grace in his late teens to early 20’s.  He is still amazed that the eternally loving God welcomes us into fellowship with him.
He is married to Naomi and dad to Nathanael and Esther, and works as a GP on Wirral.
He has been an elder at Christ Church Liverpool since 2007, leads the South Connect Group, and has loved seeing God work in and our members.
